International migration has become so common that now it is integral phenomenon in the world of modern society. Since 2014 the number of foreigners who came to Siauliai region and received a work permit increased by 50 %. The number of people that declared place of residents in Siauliai city increased 157 %. With increasing immigration, there is a need for the integration of foreigners into society. One of the most important conditions for successful integration is the opportunity to find work in Lithuania. Achieving this goal requires to get professional qualifications and social cultural competencies that are required in the labour market.
Project activities will cover relevant topics: cognition of Lithuanian culture through folk dance – with the help of Lithuanian folk dances, representatives of the target group will be introduced to Lithuanian culture, encouraged to communicate in Lithuanian with each other and Lithuanians; Cognition of Lithuanian culture in the Lithuanian Folk Museum – a planned trip to the Lithuanian Folk Museum; information and mediation in receiving social services – regular consultations and mediation in receiving them are provided; career and profession planning – trainings that aim to create opportunities for the target group, to acquire knowledge and skills necessary for successful integration into the labour market, Lithuanian society and to form civic values; volunteering – training that promotes volunteer activity; cooperation and dissemination of information – a public discussion during the city event and 9 TV shows to present successful stories of integration of refugees and their family members in to the society and the labour market.
The aim of the project “I live LT” is to make it easier for the integration process of socially excluded, fit for work refugees and foreigners into the community and the labour market.
Project activities will be attended by participants – 40 people of the target group and 6 volunteers. The target group of the project (here and after TG) – fit for work refugees and foreigners and their family members who experience social exclusion due to their current situation. TG and their family members can participate in the project activities to ensure mutual assistance and successful integration.
Project implementation duration: 2019-01-02 – 2022-01-02.

04-11-2019| PRESENTATION OF THE PROJECT “I LIVE LT” AT THE EMPLOYMENT SERVICE
On November 4 of this year, together with Siauliai Municipalities’ Employment Service, we met with foreigners, that registered at the Employment Service, at an organised event. During the event, Irena Vaikutienė, a representative of the Employment Service, spoke about the services provided to foreigners and employment opportunities in Siauliai, also Aida Adeikienė – Director of the National Regions Development Agency, Diana Armalienė – Career Counsellor and Daiva Lapukaitė Klimienė – Project Manager of the project “I live LT” presented project activities and their benefit, also invited everyone to join the project activities.
We are happy with the beautiful discussion about the problems that foreigners have in integrating in to the Lithuanian culture.

13-08-2019| THE FIRST TV SHOW OF THE PROJECT “I LIVE LT”
On October 5, on a sunny Saturday, a large group of warm and sporty communities and representatives of non-governmental organizations gathered at the Zaliukai miller’s homestead for the autumn sports festival “It’s already Autumn”. Ukrainian and Belarusian communities took part in the event and presented their autumn-decorated spaces. The participants and guests of the event were delighted by the songs performed by Roma, Russians and Belarusians. Siauliai Television, the partner of the project “I live LT”, spoke to the festive participants of the event. You will soon see moments from this beautiful event in the second TV show of the project “I live LT”.
08-08-2019| MEETING WITH A MEMBER OF THE UKRAINIAN COMMUNITY
On August 8, the Public Institution National Regions Development Agency received guests from the Siauliai Ukrainian Association “KARPATAI”🇺🇦🇱🇹 . We presented the project “I live LT” and its future project activities to Aliona, a member of “KARPATAI” association, and discussed of how to attract the target group. We are happy that our project is described as reflecting of today’s issues and how much needed the project is – for successful integration of foreigners, it is not enough to be tolerant and develop social tolerance. It is important to involve foreigners in language teaching, to acquaint immigrants with Lithuanian culture, history, customs and traditions.
19-06-2019 | EVENT OF THE UKRAINIAN ASSOCIATION “KARPATAI”
On June 15, an event organized by the Ukrainian Association “KARPATAI” took place in the homestead of Zaliukai mill, where groups from Siauliai, Klaipeda, Kaunas, Jelgava and Belarus participated. The partners of the project “I live LT” (No. 08.6.1-ESFA-V-911-04-0008) were also delighted by the Folk Dance Ensemble “Vajunas”. The event included live presentations of various folk crafts, various educational and artistic programs.

On March 28 this year, the Public Institution National Regions Development Agency had guests from the European Social Fund Agency (ESFA). During the meeting it was discussed – the course, stages and obligations of the project “I live LT” (No. 08.6.1-ESFA-V-911-04-0008).

19-03-2019 | FIRST MEETING OF “LIVING LT” PARTNERS
The first meeting of partners of the project “I live LT” (No. 08.6.1-ESFA-V-911-04-0008) took place at the National Regions Development Agency.
How does society accept foreigners and refugees? What kind of difficulties do foreigners have? What is the most important part in integrating foreigners? These and other questions were discussed by the partners of “I live LT” from the National Regions Development Agency, the Social Integration Centre, Siauliai Television and Folk Dance Ensemble “Vajumas”. During the meeting, the project partners discussed their commitments and responsibilities.
